Whether it is winning some of the world’s biggest ultra trail races, traveling to some of the most exotic and mouthwatering running locations of the world, or simply inspiring everyday trail runners to be themselves and just get out there and run and realise their dreams, Anna Frost has inspired a generation.
Once again in 2017 we will be hosting a very special event, as the Kiwi star comes back to Wales to host ‘A Day with Anna Frost’. The 2015 and 2016 events were a huge success and this event promises to be one of the hottest tickets on the Run. Coed y Brenin roster this year!
After 3 days of runs, seminars and workshops, film sessions, the Fearless Frosty book launch and a 10k social run, the decision was unanimous – the inaugural Anna Frost Weekend at Coed y Brenin last year was an overwhelming success. Here just a selection of the feedback following the events:
“Thanks for an awesome day Anna! I learned tons and have a lot of new tools to take me forward with my enjoyment of running. You’re a star!” – Emily Cobb
“Thank you Frosty, your an inspiration! Very pleased to have met you and the wonderful people in Wales we had lots of fun and it was all just perfect!” – Venus Pajooh
Reflecting on last year’s event Frosty was really pleased with the weekend and the reaction of the attendees, looking forward to this year she states:
“I love coming back to Wales, but this weekend was extra special. I was blown-away by the enthusiasm of the runners who came along – so much warmth and mutual inspiration.
“I am super excited to come back to my stomping grounds in Wales again this year, a place where I learnt so much about myself, about challenging your comfort zones, about adventure and about the amazing mountains. The people and the place are close to my heart to coming back here to share my passion for running is such an honour. “
The global trail star will return to some of her Welsh roots as she joins us at Coed y Brenin to present a seminar on women’s running, her epic Hardrock 100 race win, with in depth Q & A sessions on her global trail running exploits, demonstrate her prowess and knowledge in trail running technique workshops and lead a run through the forest trails.
Friday will be the ‘women only’ day, starting at 9.00am and running through to 4.30pm, with Saturday being open to all and a session of 9.00am – 4.30pm
Each day will also include lunch and there will be an exclusive Anna Frost t-shirt and goody bag for each lucky attendee. Ticket prices are £30 (plus booking fee), per person and will be limited to 60 places on Friday and 60 places on the Saturday.
To finish off a memorable weekend we will be hosting the free-to-run ‘Frosty’s Sunday Social’ 10km run at 10:30am on Sunday. The event is a non-competitive trail run, led by Anna, aiming to make trail running accessible to all standards, and most especially women, holding close the aspect of an authentic, panoramic, and challenging trail running, filled with the experience of natural trails, woodlands and rivers in the majestic beauty of of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin Forest Park in the Snowdonia National Park, Wales.
Though the event is free, we urge runners to ‘enter’ via the above link, to give us an idea of numbers on the day. You can view the route via this Strava link. The 2016 event was also captured in an inspirational film, produced by specialist outdoor media and film makers Summit Fever Media.
